Good News! Airtel 5G service now available in 13 towns across jammu and kashmir
Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of its 5G services in four more towns in Jammu and Kashmir, bringing the total number of towns covered to 13.
The new services are now available in Katra, Anantnag, Baramulla, and Rajouri. Airtel has said that its 5G services will be rolled out to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to build its network.
The company is committed to augmenting its network to make services available across all the cities in due course of time.
Airtel’s COO of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, Adarsh Verma, said that the connectivity to customers in the valley is in line with the company’s commitment to bridge the digital divide and connect communities that need it the most. He added that customers in these 13 cities can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds up to 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds.
Airtel is a global communications solutions provider with over 500 million customers in 17 countries across South Asia and in Africa.
The telecom giant has announced that its unique 5G users have crossed the 10 million milestone, making it the first service provider to roll out 5G services in the country in October 2022. The company aims to cover every town and key rural area with 5G services by March 2024.
5G is the fifth-generation mobile network that can transmit large data sets at a very rapid speed. It has a low latency, which enhances user experiences in various sectors.
The 5G rollout is expected to bring more development in remote data monitoring in sectors such as mining, warehousing, telemedicine, and manufacturing, among others.
Telecom service providers in India began providing high-speed 5G services in the country from October 2022 onwards, following spectrum allocation letters issued by the government in August 2022. The government received total bids worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore from the 5G spectrum auction.
